First tandem flights of the season over green Pawna valley, Kamshet

Kamshet Paragliding 2026–27 Season Opens This October

17 September 2026 3 min read

The monsoon is winding down, the landing fields are drying out, and the Pawna valley is at its greenest — the 2026–27 paragliding season at Kamshet opens this October. If you have been waiting all through the June–September break, the first slots of the season are the best ones to grab.

/Why October–November is special

Early season is the most beautiful time to fly at Kamshet. The hills are still lush from the monsoon, Pawna Lake is full, and the air is gentle — east-to-west winds give smooth, calm flights that are perfect for first-timers. Flyable conditions typically run from early morning until around 1:30 PM, so morning slots are the pick.

From December–January the air turns smooth and thermic — pilots can climb high and occasionally fly all day. Then from February through May the wind reverses to a sea breeze from the west, and flying shifts to the evening window, roughly 4 PM to sunset. Different season, different sky — but October is when it all starts.

Every flight includes a certified pilot, helmet, harness, briefing, jeep to the take-off hill, and free GoPro photos and video.

/How to book an early-season slot

Early-season weekends fill fast — everyone who missed monsoon flying books the first few weeks. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 7666453090 with your date and group size; a ₹500 per-person advance locks your slot, with the balance at the meeting point. If weather cancels, you reschedule free or take a full refund.

/Who should book the first weeks

October mornings are the gentlest flying of the entire season — laminar wind, mild temperatures and post-monsoon views that disappear by December. That makes the first month ideal for first-timers, families and anyone who wants the calmest possible introduction to the air. Photographers should come in October–November too; the valley is never greener.

If you are chasing height and airtime instead, wait for December–January thermic days or the strong evening lift of March–May — but for a relaxed first flight, nothing beats the opening weeks.

/What is different this season

All take-off sites — Tower Hill East & West, Shelar and Pawna — are checked and reopened after the monsoon, and the same pilots return for daily flying. Prices stay unchanged: ₹2,999 for the Classic Joyride, ₹3,950 for Instructional and ₹4,499 for Acro. GoPro photos and video remain free with every flight, and the ₹500 per-person advance still reserves your slot.

One reminder for early season: post-monsoon ground can be soft at some landing fields for the first couple of weeks, so the pilots pick sites carefully each morning. You are always told the exact take-off point a day ahead — check WhatsApp the evening before your slot.

See you at the take-off hill — Tower Hill or Shelar, whichever the October wind picks.
