Kamshet Paragliding Age & Weight Limit — Who Can Fly
The honest rules on age, weight and health — and why they exist.
Almost anyone can fly tandem at Kamshet — that is the point of a pilot-controlled flight. But there are real limits on age, weight and health, set by physics and safety rather than paperwork.
Here is what applies, why it applies, and what to do if you are on the boundary.
Age
There is no strict legal age bar for tandem paragliding in India — the practical rule is that the passenger must fit the harness safely and follow the take-off briefing. Children fly regularly with a parent or guardian present, and healthy seniors fly too. If you are booking for a child or an older flyer, message us first so we can confirm conditions on the day.
Weight
Tandem wings are certified for a total load — pilot, passenger and gear. The workable passenger range is typically ~15 kg to ~95 kg, but the exact limit shifts with the day’s wind: light wind days need heavier passengers; strong wind days can take lighter ones. Always confirm the day’s range on WhatsApp before travelling if you are near either boundary.
Health conditions
- Do not fly with heart conditions, severe spinal problems, or after recent major surgery.
- Pregnant flyers cannot fly.
- Mild conditions (controlled blood pressure, asthma) — check with your doctor, then tell the pilot.
- Disclose anything relevant during booking; the pilot will tell you honestly whether it is a problem.
Why the limits exist
Weight affects take-off speed and wing loading. Harness fit affects safety in the air and on landing. Health rules exist because take-off involves a short run and landing can involve a firm slide — nothing dramatic, but enough that certain conditions should not fly.
