Paragliding for Beginners at Kamshet — Your First Flight, Step by Step
No experience, no training, no fear required — here is exactly what a first tandem flight looks like.
Every person in our photos was once a first-timer standing at the take-off slope feeling exactly what you feel now. Tandem paragliding exists for beginners — a certified pilot does all the flying while you sit in a comfortable front harness.
Here is the whole experience, start to finish, so nothing on the day surprises you.
Before you arrive
- Book on WhatsApp — tell us your date and package; we confirm a morning or afternoon slot.
- Wear closed sports shoes and comfortable clothes.
- Eat a light breakfast — flying on a completely empty or very full stomach both feel worse.
Arrival & briefing
You report at the meeting point near Hotel Rangoli, Kamshet, at your slot time. A shared jeep takes you up to the take-off hill — Tower Hill or Shelar. The pilot fits your helmet and harness and gives a 5-minute briefing: how to run at take-off, how to sit in the air, how landing works.
Take-off
This is the only part where you do anything: a short run — about 10–15 steps — down a gentle slope while the wing inflates above you. Then your feet leave the ground and you are sitting in the harness, flying. There is no jump, no drop, no falling sensation.
In the air
For 8–15 minutes the pilot flies you over Pawna Lake and the valley. Sit back, breathe, look around. The pilot records the whole flight on GoPro — the footage is free. Feeling brave? Ask for gentle turns. Feeling nervous? Say so — the pilot keeps it smooth.
Landing
The pilot lines up the landing field, asks you to lift your legs, and you slide in gently on the harness. Then it is unclip, take your GoPro footage, and spend the next hour telling everyone you flew.
