What to Wear for Paragliding in Kamshet
Ten minutes of preparation that makes the flight comfortable — most of it is already in your wardrobe.
You do not need special gear to fly tandem — the pilot, harness and helmet are all provided. But what you wear decides how comfortable the take-off run, the cold air aloft, and the landing feel.
On your feet — the one real rule
Closed sports shoes are required. The take-off is a short run down a slope — sandals, heels, crocs and bare feet are all out. Any lace-up trainer or sports shoe works.
Clothing
- Full-sleeve t-shirt or light jacket — it is noticeably cooler at altitude, and sleeves protect against harness straps.
- Track pants or jeans — avoid skirts, sarees or anything loose and flowing.
- Nothing dangling: tuck in drawstrings, remove scarves and dupattas.
Carry with you
- Sunglasses — the glare off Pawna Lake is real.
- Sunscreen and a cap for the wait at take-off.
- A bottle of water.
- Your phone in a zipped pocket if you want your own shots (the GoPro footage is free anyway).
Leave behind
- Loose items — hats that can blow off, loose jewelry, open bags.
- Heavy jackets in winter — a windcheater is enough; the harness adds warmth.
- Selfie sticks and drones — not permitted during the flight.
